The Light Meets the Dark Tour

Last night I had the amazing opportunity to go to Kansas City with a number of BC students to see Matt Maher, Addison Road, and Tenth Avenue North live in concert. Yes, we were the loud, obnoxious ones to the far left singing the fight song and screaming for Matt.
I've heard him a number of times before, but he continues to be an amazing artist and musician both in his recordings and live performances. He continues to use his God-given talent for the glory and praise of God, and it is wonderful! I pray for him, that as he increases in popularity in the Christian music world, he can continue to be a strong Catholic Christian, never being afraid to share the faith and the fullness of truth with those he comes in contact with, whether it be other bands or the audience.

The night was wonderful, and it brought back many memories of Totus Tuus this summer. From seeing some of my teammates again to singing the often sung "Christ is Risen", it was a great night with new friends and old teammates, praising the Lord.

Matt Maher's "Christ is Risen" from Alive Again
Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with Him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave

O death, where is your sting?
O hell, where is your victory?
O church, come stand in the light
The glory of God has defeated the night

O death, where is your sting?
O hell, where is your victory?
O church, come stand in the light
Our God is not dead
He's alive! He's alive!

Each day, I am so thankful that the Lord is not a distant god, like a watchmaker, who made everything and is now just sitting back and watching. No, He is a personable, intimate God, who yearns for a relationship with each and everyone of His children. He desires to be so close to us, to work in intimate ways in and through us. He is not dead, but alive!

Also bringing back memories of Totus Tuus was Tenth Avenue North's "By Your Side" and "Love is Here." One of my teammates this summer would combine the verses of one with the refrain of the other for a weekly meditation done with the high school students. She did a phenomenal job each week, using her God-given talents to praise God and He worked through her to touch not only the teens, but myself as well.

And so, today, I am thankful for my Totus Tuus teammates, for Matt Maher and Tenth Avenue North, for the opportunity to go to BC, where I have met so many wonderful people. I am thankful for Jesus Christ, the love of my life, who is constantly knocking at the door to our hearts, yearning to share His Love with us.

It don't have a job, don't pay your bills
Won't buy you a home in Beverly Hills
Won't fix your life in five easy steps
Ain't the law of the land or the government
But it's all you need

...

It's knocking at your door

In Christ through Mary.
